Thank you for your interest in Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and these critically important leadership positions of our Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Chief Operating Officer.

I was honoured to be appointed as Chief Executive of Wirral University Teaching Hospital last year.  My appointment followed an unsettling time for our staff, governors and partners, with several unplanned leadership changes.  Over the last 12 months we have set about rebuilding trust and strength in the organisation and we have made several key appointments to support our development. This is helping us to develop the right environment for our organisation to flourish.  We are working together to create a strong culture of compassionate care for our patients and for our staff. Our performance both financially and operationally is strengthening as a result.

The Trust is a major employer on the Wirral and we take our role as a partner in the wider health and care economy seriously. We recognise our opportunity and responsibility to improve the future well-being of our population.  As a Board and Senior Leadership team we are addressing performance challenges whilst developing a clear strategy to achieve our potential as an organisation and a system.  At the start of our exciting journey an opportunity has arisen for an experienced NHS Finance leader to join our Board as Chief Finance Officer. In addition to this role we also have a broad and new position of Deputy Chief Operating Officer with significant Board exposure and wide corporate and operational responsibilities including service improvement, operational performance management and business intelligence.

We are seeking values-driven and visible leaders who can handle risk and ambiguity comfortably and can bring intellect and insight to leading complex services within the context of a wider health and social care economy. Providing clear structures of accountability which empower our capable staff to innovate and drive sustainable change, these roles will require exceptional communicators who will be politically astute and quickly able to develop strong relationships internally and with a wide range of external stakeholders.  We are interested in hearing from experienced leaders who share our values and ambition and who are excited by these opportunities to develop a vibrant health and care economy in Wirral.
