Thank you for your interest in Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and these important and exciting leadership roles.
In my short time here as Interim Chair, I’ve spent time talking to staff throughout the Trust and have seen the passion and ambition they have for our services as well as their commitment to the Trust’s PROUD values. We have hit the headlines over the last few months with the departures of the former Chief Executive and Chair widely reported in the HSJ. This is an unsettling time for our staff and partners, however we are working together to create a strong culture and strengthen our performance.
We are a major employer on the Wirral and we are also taking our role as a partner in the wider health and care economy seriously. We recognise our opportunity and responsibility to improve the future well-being of our population.
The roles that we are advertising include the critical appointment of our new Chief Executive who will need to provide visible, transparent and stable leadership to the Executive team and our committed workforce and who can work collaboratively to build trusted relationships with our patients, public, partners, commissioners and regulators. The Trust has huge potential and a talented workforce. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader to make their mark and take the organisation forward with a clear and confident vision.
Our new Chief Executive will be a values-driven individual who can handle risk and ambiguity comfortably and bring intellect and insight to strengthen our processes and create clarity of accountability. With experience at a senior level in leading complex acute services, you will need an empowering and engaging style and a track record of embedding an open culture of continual improvement.
I hope you enjoy finding out more about the Trust and I encourage you in the first instance to contact our recruitment partners at GatenbySanderson; Emma Pickup or Robin Staveley on 0113 205 6289 to find out more.
