Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the biggest and busiest acute NHS trusts in the North West region, with an income of approximately £337 million and more than 6,000 staff. We are the largest employer in Wirral and provide a full range of acute healthcare services across the Wirral peninsula, North West and North Wales, operating from three main sites.
We are focused on providing exceptional patient and family centred care to the communities we serve. We deliver this through integrated, seamless, continuous pathways of care enabled by innovation and leading edge technology. Central to our strategic development is the transformation of services locally and we have made good progress in developing closer collaborative working relationships within the broader Cheshire & Merseyside Health & Care Partnership. Having recently experienced some governance challenges, we are seeking to develop an engaging and empowering culture across the organisation; establishing clear accountability and a commitment to continual quality improvement.
Following a significant change in our leadership team, we are seeking to recruit a new Chair to lead our Board and Council of Governors. The Chair will provide support, insight and challenge within the Trust and will build strong and effective relationships within the wider health economy. An exceptional communicator, you will bring credibility and gravitas in representing the interests of our organisation and patients with a wide range of stakeholders. With leadership experience at Board level, gained in complex environments you will be politically astute and experienced in working across organisational boundaries. This role will be both challenging and rewarding, offering you the opportunity to shape future health and social care services for the people of Wirral and beyond.
